The furnace door switch is very faulty and does not operate properly. Even taped up it still drops line voltage to the furnace. I safely bypassed the switch so the customer has heat. It is not a furnace safety switch and there is a dedicated furnace on/off switch at the furnace so it is okay to temporarily bypass it but it needs to be replaced. I completed a parts order form and a customer follow up from. I called senior technician for warranty approval.
On arrival found system operating normal, checked AHU .found system needs new transformer due some signs of failure on it ,also evaporator coil is very dirty as well as blower and also duct needs deep cleaning due to black soot in the house .unit is operating normal at this time.

Up on arrival performed fall maintenance on 10/30/2019. Changed air filter ( s 413 ) checked thermostat for operation, checked unit for operation. Took delta T, delta P. Unit working good at this time.
Found the packing nut to have been leaking. But wasn’t leaking when I arrived. Recommended replacing it. But there were other issues found on the unions of the meter. Which the meter is Howard county’s problem not our customers. Customer wants them to fix there portion first and then will call us back to give us the time we can come change out the valve.
Upon arrival I shut down system and removed old thermostat. Installed new thermostat and set up program. Returned power to system and tested all aspects of unit (heat, ac, fan only, humidifier). Unit operating normal, temperature displaying normally, and home occupancy working.
Arrived to inspect unit not heating properly. Inspected unit in heat test mode and found tstat not operating properly on fan auto mode. Customer just had tstat installed customer is opting to have that company give him a tstat for free he doesn’t want us to replace.m
Customer recently replaced the air filter. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification including the auxiliary heat strips. I operated the unit on #12 compressor heating mode and recorded 30+ degrees delta temperatures across the air coil. I slowed vs pumps down to achieve 11.5gpm in this stage and mode. I then calculated heat of extraction at 37,000 btu/hr. Unit operating normal. Recommended and spoke with the customer about a whole house surge protector and the benefits of having a humidifier. I will send estimates as well.
Upon arrival I found gas valve not the issue. Flame sensor wasn’t sensing flame and not letting gas valve open entirely. Pilot was sending correct gas pressure but without flame sense, valve wouldn’t open. Switched flame sensor with unit next to it and unit came on normally. Found that back yoga room system wouldn’t reset when faulted out. Quoting customer to replace flame sensor and ignition control board. Since I switched flame sensor with other unit I tested that systems heat too. Heat came on normally and never faulted. Quoting both systems new flame sensors but back yoga room needs ignition control board.
Upon arrival customer explained a few issues with system. First was that he was hearing a loud whistle by furnace. Found a few air gaps around filter door and humidifier, sealed with tape and whistle went away. Then he told me that furnace airflow is much higher than ac airflow. He would like us to try to match fan speeds so it runs more consistently. Found furnace is much larger than ac unit so ac fan speeds cannot he increased. Then was told thermostat indoor temp wouldn’t show on display, happened a few times per Troy. Reset thermostat and reprogrammed settings. Could not recreate thermostat error. Per Carrier, they suggest we replace stat again.
