Fix water leak on copper tubing for radiator. What would have been a much quicker repair took longer because the section of radiator would not drain. I found a short piece of 3/4 copper and 2 couplings and cut into the leaking pipe to force it to drain. Once the water was out of the pipe, the repair was achieved. I turned the water back on and the boiler. Radiators are heating and there are no leaks. Itâ€™s an oil burning boiler but customer had no issues with it and was aware that I could not service it.
Service call on 11/29/19 On arrival customer explained to me one of her unit thermostat it was red set needs service I set the unit to call for heat measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked drain checked air filter checked EWP and LWP also water temp measured pressure and temp and unit indicating zero leaks unit operating normal at this time. No repair collected $124 diagnostic fee on C.C on file.
Up on arrival found system was flat on charge. Found King and king valve was not open all the way . Opened valves all the way , charged system with nitrogen at 400psi, hold it for 45 minutes all pressures stayed still. Released nitrogen, pulled vacuum on system. Changed system with R410A , ran out our refrigerant, got as close as I can get to preferred pressures, took delta T is 26, need return visit sometime in couple weeks to check up on the system. Unit working at this time.
Fall pm on 10/24/ 19 On arrival I sanded the flame rectification probe and checked burner arrangement the ignitor homes out to be in good condition checked all other electrical connections set unit to call for heat measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked drain and cleaned checked filter and replaced checked blower motor checked all other electrical connections checked temp rise DT 47 made for 35-65 checked condenser unit checked pressure and temp and they are ideal indicating zero leaks checked compressor capacitor checked coil unit tested unit operating normal at this time. Recommended Uv lights installation and DUCT Cleaning also Wet switch for unit #2.
Checked dip switches and reset unit to try to bring fan speed up. Checked refrigerate pressures and found to be good. Customer says the air flow is better but not like it was. Customer would like someone to come out to give them a price on a replacement unit.
On arrival found 2nd flr outdoor unit not operating ,found disconnect was at off position.corrected the position to on .unit came on normal .also customer and I spoke about hard start kits and the benefits of having them installed .i installed two hardstart kits .units operating normal
Reschedule the spring pm b/c the customer she didnâ€™t have air filters she needs to be changed.
I went into the attic and basement with the vacuum cleaner and cleaned the drain lines. I used a brush inside the traps and flushed with water to push any debris down the drain line. Both drains are free from obstruction and both have safety devices installed. I checked the filters and they are clean. Coils and blower wheels are clean. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification. Both units are cooling with normal delta temperatures. Units are operating normal. I recommended installing hard start kits to each unit outdoors. These devices take the strain at start up off the compressor and greatly help to prevent compressor failure due to shorted out internal windings. Customer will talk to there husband about adding these.
On arrival found system not operating,found gas pressure not set correctly.adjusted gas pressures ,also configured furnace To bring the fan on when heat pump is running .system operating normal
Furnace would fire up when it had set for a while but would not fire back up when it was hot. I checked the pressure being pulled by the inducer and it was under 1.25 unless the furnace had time to cool off. I went through every procedure to rule out causes of low draft pressure, including checking drain tubes to the collector box and the collector box itself. I cut the exhaust pipe to see if the pressure increased and removed the burner compartment door but the draft pressure hardly increased. This lead me to pull as much off to inspect the heat exchanger. Using a scoping camera I was able to go around a bend to find the cause, a cracked heat exchanger in the area with severe discoloration due to overheating. I was able to show the customer the crack. I made the furnace inoperable and turned the gas off. A sales person is coming out tomorrow to quote replacement. Customer does not want this to happen with a new furnace.
