Up on arrival performed fall maintenance on 11/05/2019. Tested thermostat for operation, tested unit for operation. Took delta T . Took readings of all electrical components. Air filter ( 16x25x1 ) was just Replaced couple days ago. Unit working good at this time.
Arrived to complete fall preventative maintenance. Verified system proper operations in heat test mode. Found unit 2 is starting to rust and there is a large potential of heat exchanger cracking. Did not find crack but rust is building on all tubes. With this and high heat rise temps we are quoting that the heat exchanger get replaced before heating season starts. Parts waiting quote for repair.
I replaced the air filter with one provided by the customer. I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification but the cold igniter had a high resistance. It was ultimately replaced with a Silicone Nitride hot surface igniter. The inducer motor was pulling under rated amperage which is a good thing. I set gas pressure to just <=3.5iwc. I checked temperature rise which is normal. Heat exchanger exhibits no breaches and there is no flame roll out at ignition. Gas furnace is operating normal.
Change out s-trap and install proper p trap. Installed proper p-trap and drains with no leaks. Customer was very happy with job. Will call us again for future repairs. Waived dispatch fee for approval of repairs.

Upon arrival I was told that furnace was working but inspector asked them to have furnace looked at to address a few items. Went to furnace and ran heat. Inspector mentioned a yellow flame but I do not see that. Flame is blue with small trails of orange deep inside of heat exchanger which is normal. I did find gas pressure slightly high, 3.75inches, lowered to spec at 3.5inches. Also found a good amount of air bleeding from small gaps in unit. Used tape to seal air gaps. Continued to run furnace and found heat rise of 43, normal. Filter is clean, blower and coil are clean. Unit is pretty new and is operating normal at this time.
On arrival set unit to call for heat measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked coils, blower ,cap, contractor .unit operating normal
Upon arrival I found furnace off. Turned on to find inducer motor not running, only humming. Capacitor in spec and motor getting correct voltage. Quoted customer to replace inducer Assembly and he approved and paid half. Office please contact customer with update on part and to schedule return. 12-7-18 (DM) replaced inducer motor assembly and checked operations . Adjusted fan speed to get unit into specs. System is operating but poorly. The system makes a lot of noise from blower motor but everything is tight and in-line with amps . Unit is 23 years old so I informed the costumer about the noise and the life expectancy of the furnace . Supply air 131 degrees and return air 80 degrees .
