Great Service

Review of Supreme Service Today

Colin was very knowledgeable, diagnosed the problem. Also is making Supreme Air management aware that new units installed during the winter should have courtesy coolant level check prior to the warm weather.

Technician was fabulous but...

Review of Supreme Service Today

Technician ran through several tests and diagnostics but our problem is not solved. Outside temperatures were in the low 80s today and our AC system could not cool the house or reduce the humidity in the afternoon hours. Thermostat was set for 72, temps got up to 77 inside the house. I need this brand new unit to cool my house asap. Thanks Bill and Sharon Harper Friday May 31st

I replaced the suction line temperature sensor. I believe that the previous technician may have inadvertently replaced the compressor ambient air temperature sensor instead of the suction line temperature sensor. The insulation and wiring was completely as it was when it left the factory. I only mention this to possibly alleviate some concerns the customer has about the equipment. I cycled the unit and observed normal operation.

Need to replace Coax Coil for Main Floor geo System, restricted. Upon arrival I wanted to test Coax Coil to see if it was still restricted since this is a major repair. So I shut off water flow to the geo unit, opened up P/T port, then opened up incoming water to system. Found a lot of sediment blow out followed by a solid stream of water. Closed P/T port then ran system to check water flow. Normal water flow rate. While Matt was installing Inline Filter for well, I removed water meter and cleaned out so we can see GPM. Once Inline Filter was finished and water flow was restored I tested water flow without unit running then I checked operation in heating and ac mode. Unit operating normal at this time. Returned power to system and ran from thermostat. Normal operation.

The original Trane geo unit was not keeping up but I found it to work remarkably well, heating by 25-28 degrees each heat cycle that was initiated and auxiliary heat worked properly as well. Customer said they would wake up and it would be 58 degrees in the home and the thermostat would say aux heat. If the aux heat had truly been running then it would have kept the set point. I also noticed that when you increased the set point by just 1 degree the thermostat would immediately bring on aux heat which is not normal. I found no faults with the equipment and believe the thermostat was faulty. I replaced it and tested the unit multiple times and found the unit is operating normal. Customer goes out of town on Tuesday and will see if it holds the set point during the night.

Reset the wet switch and move it from underneath the pt ports for the ground loop and check system for proper operation. The wet switch for unit #3 had been tripped because of condensate dripping off the geo loop pt ports and collecting on the tile floor. I moved all the wet switches in that room away from the pt ports and I reset the switch, which was causing a critical communication error. As soon as the switch was reset the fault cleared and the unit began operating in heating mode. I cycled it through all stages of heat and checked to make sure I hadn’t missed any other underlying causes of moisture like from the humidifier drains but everything was dry. Unit operating normal. Wet switch will not fault again unless there is a real moisture problem that needs to be addressed.

Dave from WF gave me Case # 525395. Part # 12P556-01 suction temp sensor. Upon arrival I was told that main floor geo system, packaged unit located in office, was faulting on low pressure. Went to unit, plugged in aid tool, and found 33 low pressure faults. Inspected unit and found no issues so I reset power and tested heat from aid tool and also from thermostat. Noticed when I reset power that I was given an EEV2 suction temp fault but went away when full power was restored. Also noticed that when system started running the suction pressure dropped to about 75psi then rose to normal 110psi during operation. Called Water Furnace and informed Dave of what unit was doing and previous issues a few months ago. He asked me to ohm out the stepper motor plug that connects to the EEV board by verifying all wires to grey ohm out to 46 plus or minus 4. All wires match spec rating so I checked ohms of all sensors. Found them to be matching temp and operating normally. Finally I put gauges on sys

Upon arrival I went to well pump control and verified we have normal pressure in loop. Inspected operation of master bedroom first and found it to be operating normal. Good water flow, heat rejection, and delta air temps. Went to basement system and found the coax coil to be slightly restricted. Found the same for theatre room unit. I was able to free slight restriction using nitrogen and vacuum on both theatre room and basement systems. Then I inspected main floor geo unit and found system not moving any water. Verified taco valve is opening to return water to well but I do not have any water pressure leaving geo, 70psi entering geo. Removed P/T ports and tried to flush coax out using water pressure, nitrogen, vacuum, and snake. Unable to free restriction. Per Alex, I am quoting them to replace Coax Coil for Main Floor System. Cause of restrictions are from customer not having an in-line water filter for loop when it enters house, only filter is on furthest geo unit. Quoting customer

Upon arrival I was told that geo system for master bedroom wasn’t working and customer could hear loud humming sound from mechanical room. Found water pressure at 0psi when unit is running. Found valves are opening and closing normally but no water pressure. Humming sound is coming from valves because we have no water flow. Found pressure tank holding 0psi. Opened up Grundfos controller to find well pump flashing locked rotor. Tried to reset and it locked out again, Pump is getting full voltage in and out. Well pump needs to be replaced, also need a cover and to run new wire. Called Milby, spoke to Nate, after giving him well info he gave me model # 35GS30 for the pump.

Upon arrival I found nobody working on site. Called office and they gave me access code (2012) to enter. Found thermostat wire for furnace in living room so I went to furnace and verified it had high voltage. Condensate Pump cannot be plugged into wall because they haven’t finished electrical wiring. Cut off pump plug and hardwired it to furnace for operation, furnace needs to drain. Wired and mounted new thermostat then returned power and tested furnace. Put manometer on system and verified gas pressures and heat rise. Furnace overheating so I went to main floor and found almost all registers were blocked by wood. Pulled away anything laying on top of registers and removed wood blocks that were screwed into ground blocking registers. Furnace now operating normal.

Customer has an issue with 2 thermostats not connecting to WiFi. While I was there one connected by itself. The other one is in the theater. I called Carrier tech support with the customer standing next to me. They advised turning on the customers Hot Spot to see if it connected. Customer unfamiliar with turning on Hot Spot and began thinking that the whole house network would be compromised. They asked me to stop trying to help them and want someone who knows this thermostat better to come and help. I suspect the problem is not with the thermostat but with the router signal strength but had to stop. During the maintenance I checked the electrical wiring and electrical systems, all are within specification except unit #3, has a burnt voltage distribution system, voltage absorption system has full value but is leaking oil. I made estimates to replace these and add a start assist to the compressor circuit. Unit #3 is for the basement area. It has low refrigerant charge of r22 and is op

We need to return and install 2 outdoor air temperature sensors that get wired into each of the furnace control boards on the OAT terminals. This should solve the problem. The furnace is working now because I discovered the vents were taped shut outside. We still need to return to place a cover over the pipes. The unit faults when the system is in control over the heat source and stops the heat pump from heating and runs the gas even though the furnace is locked out above 20 degrees. I set heat mode to heat pump only and it is operating properly. Need to return when a technician can call Carrier for support.
